What an incredible success is 'Taste of the South' in bringing artisans and all sorts of food, drink and people who produce it to Poole. Well done to Jackie and Richard at RoutePR and all the team for all their hard work. looking forward to giggly pig sausages and Pothecary Gin and best homemade lemonade and brownies (but not altogether!)
And how proud am I to finally see European Maritime Day here in Poole 2017. Five years of planning, driving, marketing and espousing its virtues and having to sometimes really fight for it!! Can't believe it!! What an incredible Confetence. People loved the venue. Fantastic VIP dinner at Royal Motor Yacht Club and the sunset even played to our guests.
A huge privilege to be so warmly hosted by staff and patients on Portland Ward at Poole Hospital to see the Caring Canines in action. Acquired Brian Injury patients and their families get immeasurable therapeutic benefits from the interaction with these incredibly gentle dogs. Totally humbled (and could almost have got me back in uniform).
Yet another reason I love being Mayor. Bringing the 'mayordom' to real Poole people? Families of our Youth Parliament leaders, Ella and Lowri, enjoying tea in the parlour. What a great pleasure to meet you all and 'hang out' for a while. (Fred the pirate awaiting his fate on Sunday)!
After a substantial boat ride the landing at Redcliffe Attwell was squidgy to say the least. We traversed the beaches until we located the boundary marker replaced by Margret Llewellyn in 1951. Less Gorse would have been appreciated!
bike nights on poole quay starting well
But the Harley Davidson soft tail took it - but only by a whisker from an old Triumph
The last two weeks of 'mayordom' and still getting out and about as much as ever!
Honoured to present awards to Poole's Air Cadets on Saturday. So many people, again, giving time, skills, effort and so much more to ensure young people gain from such a fantastic organisation. Really impressed by the presentations by the cadets - professionally delivered! These young people are making us proud now, but clearly they are heading towards a great future - talented, committed and enthusiastic - fantastic. New leaders for these organisations are always needed!
